The Beekeeper's Story

Blue Ridge Honey Company was founded by Bob and Suzette Binnie, who began beekeeping in 1981. Bob brings decades of hands-on experience to the operation and was named the 2003 Georgia State Beekeeper of the Year. Their retail home-base is located off Highway 441 in rural Lakemont, Georgia, where Bob manages all beekeeping and sales while Suzette oversees the office, website, and shipping. The company keeps active bee yards in the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains of Northeast Georgia, Western North Carolina, and South Georgia. In addition to a wide selection of raw honey varieties, they wholesale and retail bee pollen, beeswax products, handmade candles, wellness items, and beekeeping equipment. All products are available for purchase online and ship nationwide. Facility inspections are conducted by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and annual third-party food safety audits are performed by NSF Cook & Thurber.
