A label issue worth clarifying upfront: "tea tree honey" — and the interchangeable Australasian spelling "ti-tree honey," which redirects here — on a jar can trace back to three different plants. Leptospermum polygalifolium (jelly bush) is the primary commercial "tea tree honey" in the Australian marketplace — a genuine bee-foraged monofloral, and the subject of this page. Leptospermum scoparium is its same-genus sibling, sold under its own name, Manuka; it shares the DHA-to-MGO biosynthetic pathway with jelly bush, which is a botanical fact rather than a ranking.
