The origins of Local Hive date back to 1924, when L.R. Rice founded Rice's Lucky Clover Honey in Greeley, Colorado. The company began as a family business, with L.R. Rice selling local honey door-to-door. Four generations later, the family continues to operate the business under the Local Hive brand, committed to the original mission of providing 100% pure, raw and unfiltered American honey. Each honey varietal takes on the distinct floral notes authentic to the unique flora of the region it is harvested from. Local Hive partners with trusted beekeepers across the U.S., shipping honey directly from beekeepers to their Greeley HQ, where it is strained through cheesecloth (preserving pollen and nutrients) and bottled raw & unfiltered. The brand markets more than 23 regional honey blends available online and at grocery retailers nationwide.
