Hunter's Honey Farm is a fourth-generation, family-owned beekeeping operation based in Martinsville, Indiana, producing raw, unfiltered, and unpasteurized honey since 1910. The farm offers over 50 varieties of honey as well as a wide range of hive-derived products including beeswax candles, bee pollen, propolis, royal jelly, and honey-infused foods and skincare. Products are available at their on-farm gift shop, online store, and regional retailers including Rural King stores across Indiana and Kentucky.
The Beekeeper's Story
Hunter's Honey Farm traces its roots to 1910, when Gilbert Perigo began managing hives on behalf of his father's orchard and eventually built his apiary to more than 800 hives. His love of beekeeping and teaching passed down through generations to his grandson Tracy Hunter, who—along with his wife Christina—carries on the tradition as fourth-generation beekeepers at the Martinsville farm. Both Tracy and Christina are teachers by profession, yet they have grown the farm into a full-fledged agritourism destination with an on-site gift shop, group farm tours, candle-making workshops, and seasonal honey extraction experiences. The farm manages several hundred hives throughout Indiana, providing contracted pollination services for apples, melons, cucumbers, and pumpkins, and producing six to eight distinct honey varietals as a result of the bees' cross-state foraging. The property also includes 65 acres of hardwood timber and 4,000 Christmas trees. In addition to direct farm sales, Hunter's Honey Farm sells wholesale and retail, ships nationwide through its online store, and has recently expanded into Rural King stores across Indiana and Kentucky.
