Bloom Honey is a Thousand Oaks, California-based producer of 100% pure, raw, unfiltered, and unpasteurized single-varietal honey, founded by David Jefferson. The brand grew out of the Jefferson family's avocado ranch in Somis, CA, where beekeeping began as a pollination strategy and evolved into a full honey business. Bloom offers over a dozen single-floral varietals sourced from their own hives and carefully selected artisanal beekeepers across the US and internationally.

The Beekeeper's Story

Bloom Honey was founded in 2013 by David Jefferson, whose family operates Jefferson Farms — a 240-acre heirloom avocado and mandarin orange ranch in Somis, California. David began keeping honeybees about a decade before launching Bloom Honey, initially to ensure pollination of the avocado crops. Over time, the operation expanded to include pollination of almonds, blueberries, oranges, and other crops, while also producing premium raw honey varietals. David studied ecological economics at Brown University and holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, bringing both a passion for sustainability and business acumen to the brand. Today, Bloom Honey manages approximately 1,000 beehives overseen by a fourth-generation beekeeper, and partners with artisanal beekeepers across the United States, India, and Mexico for specialty varietals. The brand has earned recognition including a 2015 Good Food Award for its White Clover honey and a First Place Blue Ribbon at the Ventura County Fair. Bloom Honey is also kosher certified through EarthKosher and sells online as well as in retailers like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Vintage Grocers.
