The Beekeeper's Daughter is a fourth-generation family honey brand founded in 2010 by Hannah Burgess (née Perry) in Plains, PA (Northeastern Pennsylvania), specializing in raw, unfiltered, hand-bottled American honey. Rooted in a beekeeping legacy dating back to the 1800s and the commercial Perry Apiaries established in the early 1950s, the brand operates thousands of hives across Pennsylvania, Southern New York, and Florida, producing a wide variety of single-origin and specialty honeys.

The Beekeeper's Story

The Beekeeper's Daughter was founded in 2010 by Hannah Burgess, who recognized growing demand for locally sourced raw honey and decided to launch a private label for her family's already-prolific operation. Her grandfather, William Perry Sr., had established Perry Apiaries in Dallas, PA in the early 1950s, which grew into one of the largest commercial honey operations on the East Coast. Beekeeping in the Perry family stretches back to hobbyist roots in the 1800s, and the business now maintains approximately 3,000 hives. Each winter, the hives are migrated to Florida, where they produce Orange Blossom, Saw Palmetto, and Brazilian Pepper honeys; in late spring they return to Pennsylvania and Southern New York to produce Wildflower, Locust Blossom, Buckwheat, and Fall Blossom varieties. Hannah started by selling at local farmers markets and has since grown the brand to a brick-and-mortar storefront at 60 Maffett St in Plains, PA, online nationwide sales, regional retailers, and Amazon. The business is a true family affair — her mother and brother also work for the brand — and every jar is still hand-bottled and labeled with pride.
