Editorial independence

Melvea scores are determined editorially using published criteria. Commercial relationships — affiliate links, partnerships, and others as they emerge — fund the platform and are disclosed where they appear. They do not influence scoring.

How products get into the catalog

We add products three ways:

• —Editorial discovery. We find a honey worth covering, we add it.
• —Community recommendation. A tasting in the Notebook flags a product not yet in the catalog.
• —Brand submission. A brand or producer emails us with a product to consider.

Submission does not guarantee inclusion, and inclusion does not guarantee a high score. We do not promise a review timeline. We do not promise a positive review. We promise the score will reflect what we find: flavor, origin, purity, and nothing else.

Small-batch and regional honeys are actively sought out. Big-brand availability is not a scoring advantage.

• —Country and region of origin
• —Processing method (raw, lightly filtered, pasteurized, etc.)
• —Certifications held
• —Where the product can be purchased
