Their honey products are carefully sourced from partner beekeepers in Brazil and Mexico, supporting those communities through Fair Trade programs.

The Beekeeper's Story

Founded in 2001 in Sugar Land, Texas, Wholesome Sweeteners pioneered the certification process for Fair Trade Certified sugar, agave, and honey in the United States. In 2015, the company rebranded to simply 'Wholesome!' and has since been committed to organics and eco-friendly agriculture. Since 2005, Wholesome has paid more than $11 million in Fair Trade premiums to farming co-operatives and partners worldwide, helping bring clean water, electricity, schools, and healthcare to villages in Malawi, Mexico, Brazil, and Paraguay. In December 2020, the company was acquired by Whole Earth Brands. Their honey is sourced from bees foraging in protected organic zones in Brazil and Southern Mexico, resulting in a multi-floral honey free from pesticides, antibiotics, and GMOs.
