They produce pure, raw, unheated, and unpasteurized honey sourced from their own hives in Northern Michigan (and the Florida Panhandle), with Star Thistle wildflower honey as their signature variety.

The Beekeeper's Story

Sleeping Bear Farms is a family-owned honey operation located at 971 S. Pioneer Rd. in Beulah, Michigan, in the heart of Benzie County. The farm started with just 2 beehives over 30 years ago and has grown into a full-scale operation producing hive-to-table raw honey products. Their primary Michigan honey is harvested from Star Thistle (Spotted Knapweed) wildflowers that dominate the pristine fields of northwest lower Michigan, surrounded by the region's world-renowned cherry and apple orchards. They also operate hives in the Florida Panhandle for Tupelo honey. Today they ship their products to all 50 states and supply many local restaurants, grocery, specialty, and rural markets.
