The Beekeeper's Story

What began as a hobby in 2013, Olga's Alaska Honey has grown into a small but passionate beekeeping business operating between Anchorage and Talkeetna, Alaska. The hives are kept in a secluded, remote area of the Talkeetna forest—far from civilization—ensuring the honey is free from pesticides and pollution. The short honeybee season runs from May through August, during which the bees work intensively to produce fireweed and wildflower honey. The operation also produces artisan honeys harvested at different intervals throughout the summer, capturing distinct nectar flows including early wildflower honeys, a nearly clear August fireweed honey, and a rich late-season 'Boreal Forest Honey' with flavors of birch, willow, cottonwood, alder, and spruce. Honeycomb is transported from the forest apiary to a honey barn in Anchorage, where it is spun into jars and sold by the pint or quart.
