Upcountry Maui honey from organic farms.
The Beekeeper's Story
Maui Bees Inc. was founded by Leah Damon and her husband Mark as a family business in Kula, Hawaii, established in 2009. Leah's lifelong passion for bees and organically grown food turned into a farming venture that quickly became a hit with the local community. The farm produces first-quality garden fresh produce, organically raised pastured eggs, and artisanal Maui honey β all available at their Kula farm stand. Over the years, Maui Bees has developed a stewardship model of regenerative farming, using biodynamic sprays and preparations, building their own organic compost, inoculating soil with beneficial microbes, and using cover crops and no-till mulches to build carbon in the soil. In 2020, Maui Bees completed a brand-new commercial kitchen to produce value-added farm foods, and they now offer Farm to Table dinners. The farm also features a 'bee museum' and hands-on honeybee tours and regenerative agriculture tours for visitors of all ages. Harvesting approximately 25,000 pounds of honey per year, Maui Bees has grown from a local farm stand staple into a product found at dozens of retailers across Maui, while remaining deeply committed to their community and the island's natural environment.
