Kauffman Orchards is a multi-generational family orchard and farm market based in Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, operating since 1915. While primarily known as a fruit farm, they curate and sell a wide range of raw, unfiltered honeys sourced from local partner apiaries including Welsh Mountain Apiaries and Stockin's Apiaries. Their honey offerings are raw, unheated, unpasteurized, and wild-foraged, emphasizing pesticide-free and non-GMO pollen sources.

The Beekeeper's Story

Founded by Amos L. Kauffman, who planted his first fruit trees around 1911 and began selling from a roadside stand in 1915, Kauffman Orchards has grown into a beloved Lancaster County institution now operated by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th generations of the Kauffman family. Located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country along Route 340 in Bird-in-Hand, the farm markets fresh fruits, Amish bulk foods, preserves, and a curated selection of raw honeys. Their honey is sourced from trusted partner beekeepers — primarily Welsh Mountain Apiaries, a small Mennonite family-owned business specializing in wild forage beekeeping, and Stockin's Apiaries in Lancaster County. Welsh Mountain Apiaries keeps hives on organic farms, forests, and wild meadows, avoids feeding bees high fructose corn syrup, and controls mites without chemicals, moving hives to maximize wild forage opportunities. Kauffman Orchards sells these honeys both in their physical markets and via their online store and Amazon storefront, shipping nationwide.
