Bushwick Kitchen is a national award-winning food and condiment brand founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2014, best known for its 'Bees Knees' line of flavored wildflower honeys. The brand has grown into a nationally distributed line sold online, on Amazon, and in major retailers.
The Beekeeper's Story
Bushwick Kitchen was founded in January 2014 by Casey Elsass and a partner with an ambitious challenge: launch a business from concept to finished product in just 30 days. Their first product, Bees Knees Spicy Honey — a chili-infused wildflower honey — was born from that experiment and quickly took off, with the team hand-bottling and shipping over 9,000 bottles in the first year alone from a warehouse in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood to every US state and 27 countries. The name 'Bushwick Kitchen' was inspired by the night the founders sat at Casey's Bushwick apartment kitchen table to plot out their 30-day challenge. Since those early days, the brand has grown to over 15 products under three flagship lines: Bees Knees honeys, Trees Knees maple syrups, and Weak Knees srirachas. The company is now headquartered in Washington, DC, and has been recognized as a 2023 Inc. 5000 honoree. Their products are available nationwide through their website, Amazon, Walmart, and specialty retailers.
