Blue Mountains Honey is a family business founded by Genevieve and Stephen Craig, based on a 5-acre property in Portland, NSW, Australia. They produce and pack raw honey, gourmet honey, condiments, beeswax candles, skincare products, and gift packs. Their natural honey range is seasonal and locally produced, with all added ingredients being natural and free from chemicals or additives.

The Beekeeper's Story

Over 35 years ago, Steve Craig watched his brother-in-law get repeatedly stung while tending a hive and declared he wanted one himself. One hive quickly became ten, and with an abundance of honey and family and friends refusing to take any more, his wife Genevieve began jarring the honey — decorating the jars with gum nuts gathered in the Blue Mountains bushlands — and took them to her first market. Blue Mountains Honey grew from those humble beginnings to have its products stocked in David Jones, Coles, IGA, and small delis across Australia, and even exported to Singapore, the USA, Japan, and Hong Kong. After operating out of several factories in the Penrith CBD and later a property in Luddenham, the business was disrupted by the Western Sydney Airport development, the 2019 bushfires, and COVID-19. Genevieve then spotted a small 5-acre property in Portland, NSW, and the family relocated there to continue their craft, returning to their roots with a focus on markets and direct-to-consumer sales.
