Third-generation beekeepers in Ventura County.

The Beekeeper's Story

Bennett's Honey Farm began over 40 years ago when founders Red and Ann Bennett, seeking a slower pace of life, welcomed a swarm of bees into their backyard in Piru Canyon rather than removing them. This sparked a passion for beekeeping that grew into a thriving honey business. Starting in Piru Canyon and later expanding to Fillmore along Highway 126, the farm became known for its pure, gravity-strained honey and sustainable practices. In 2011, long-time customer and skilled beekeeper Chip Vannoy and his wife Taydee took over the business, continuing the Bennetts' legacy. The farm has been 100% solar powered since 2005, producing more power than it uses, and holds both USDA Organic (NOP) and Kosher certifications. Today, under the 'Topanga Quality' house label, Bennett's sources premium raw honey from local beekeepers across Ventura County—offering single varietals such as sage, orange blossom, avocado, buckwheat, and wildflower—and sells through their tasting room, online store, local specialty markets, farmers markets, and Amazon.
